What’s it like to work at Fibron?

Fibron is an important part of the Harsh Environments Division of Hexatronic, but operates largely as an independent business. We have around 120 employees, the majority of whom work from our head office and factory in Hoddesdon, though we also have satellite offices in Cambridge and Aberdeen.

Whether you’re working in the offices or factory, Fibron has the feel of a family business in which everyone is visible and everyone has the opportunity to make a real difference. Our products are sold all around the world, and both in the factory and in our offices, our team is culturally diverse.

The specialist nature of our business means that the recruitment, development and retention of a strong core team is essential. Staff turnover is remarkably low: 48% of employees have more than 5 years service and an incredible 31% have been with Fibron for more than 10 years.

The culture of the company plays a big role in the retention of staff. The team at Fibron are friendly and welcoming. Open communication is encouraged, customer service is always a priority, and there is a sense of camaraderie that is fostered by regular social events.

The leadership team makes a point of providing regular presentations to the whole of the workforce, with updates on strategy, tactics and performance against targets.

There is a company-wide focus on continuous development for all employees through a combination of regular appraisals and both in-house and external training.

Many people have enjoyed career progression within Fibron, and there is further potential for job opportunities across the wider Hexatronic Group.
